Nokia 2.4, the entry-level Android smartphone from HMD Global has arrived in Nepal’s smartphone market. Notably, the phone made its debut alongside the Nokia 3.4 handset in the UK last week. The company claims that the Nokia 2.4 brings advanced AI imaging features including Night mode and Portrait mode, helping to take your photos to the next level. The new Nokia 2.4 is built out of polycarbonate material and has a metal chassis. The back cover has a Nordic 3D texture that is claimed to provide a better grip on the phone. The capsule-shaped dual camera setup is stacked vertically at the center with a rear-mounted fingerprint reader sitting below it.
Upfront, it has a dewdrop-notch display and thick bezels at the bottom. The SIM tray/microSD slot sits on the left edge, while the volume rockers and power button are on the right side.
The successor to the Nokia 2.3, the phone features a 6.5-inch HD+ display with 720×1600 pixel resolution. The display is tall compared to Nokia 2.3’s 6.20-inch touchscreen panel and has a slightly large display area. The display has an aspect ratio of 20:9 and 270ppi pixel density.
For performance, the Nokia 2.4 equips an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor which is paired with PowerVR GE8320 GPU for graphics. It is available in two storage configurations- 2GB RAM+32GB and 3GB RAM+64GB storage. For storage expansion, you get a dedicated microSD slot that supports up to 512GB storage.
In terms of software, Nokia 2.4 runs a near-stock Android 10 OS. As mentioned, it is an Android One device which means apart from regular security patch you get added assurance of regular software updates. For photography, the dual rear cameras employ a 16MP primary sensor. The primary camera uses a 5P lens and has an f/2.2 aperture.
The secondary camera features a 2MP depth sensor to support bokeh mode. It comes with a 5MP camera with f/2.4 aperture for clicking selfies. There’s Night mode as well for capturing better images in low-light conditions.
Under the hood sits a 4500mAh battery which is claimed to survive for two days on a single charge. For power efficiency, there’s an Adaptive Battery mode which is AI-assisted.
The device includes- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, FM radio, micro-USB port, a 3.5mm audio jack under its connectivity suite.
