Xiaomi Becomes No 1 Smartphone Brand Q1 2020 in Nepal

Xiaomi has become the number one smartphone brand in Nepal within one year of establishing the presence with an overall market share of 30.9 percent.

According to Q1 2020 IDC’s latest Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker report, four out of the top ten smartphones sold in Nepal were manufactured by Xiaomi.

The Lei Jun-owned company started its operations in Nepal in October 2018. They have achieved a significant milestone within a short span of time despite adverse competition from the likes of Samsung and Vivo.

According to the IDC survey report, Xiaomi is 66 percent bigger when compared with the second-largest smartphone vendor. Moreover, Xiaomi is as large as the second and third largest smartphone vendors combined in Nepal. While the Redmi Note 8 has become the number one smartphone in Nepal, the Redmi 8 stands at the second position.

Xiaomi Nepal has witnessed gradual growth in the region via several festive sales. The Redmi manufacturer ranked number one in all sale events conducted by Daraz.com, which is the authorized online partner.

The company established more than 900 offline partners with 350 Mi Preferred Partner shops across the country within the span of one year. This has strengthened the presence of the company in Nepal.

With a strong distribution network across locations, Xiaomi has established a pivotal position in the market with robust after-sales service through exclusive authorized service centers.

Moreover, the company also started a dedicated service warehouse to cater to the requirements of customers in Nepal. The main aim is to provide quick support including the availability of spares and accessories.
