Within few days after the launch of the Redmi Note 9 series that includes the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max and Redmi Note 9 Pro in India, the company is gearing up to launch Redmi Note 9S in Malaysia and Singapore on March 23. According to rumors, the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S will be rehashed version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro launched in India.
The Lei Jun-owned company revealed the teaser image on its official Facebook page with the tagline “Power to Win“. The poster reveals the presence of quad cameras on the rear placed on the middle side, which is identical to that of the Redmi Note 9 series.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S Specifications – Expected
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S will flaunt a 6.67-inch FHD+ punch-hole display. Under the hood, the smartphone might offer a Snapdragon 720G processor, up to 6GB RAM alongside up to 128GB expandable internal storage. We expect the availability of 4GB and 6GB RAM models with 64GB and 128GB storage capacities.
On the optics, the Redmi Note 9S will be integrated with a quad-camera mechanism comprising of 48MP primary camera. The secondary camera sensors will have an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 5MP macro lens alongside a 2MP depth sensor. The front-facing camera will most likely include a 16MP sensor instead of 32MP in the recently launched Redmi Note 9 Max in India.
However, there is a possibility of a 32MP sensor in the upcoming phone since Xiaomi is well known for throwing out surprises.
The “9” series will be tagged under the budget-friendly segment and hence you can expect smart prices. The cost will be slightly higher than before because of the decline in production due to the impact of Coronavirus. We don’t have any information about the price but it will be affordable.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S Giveaway
As part of the launch, Xiaomi Malaysia is conducting a Giveaway via Instagram from March 13 to March 20. You have to share a story about your previous experiences with Redmi Note series devices and stand a chance to win a brand new phone. The first step is to follow @xiaomi.malaysia on Instagram and snap a picture of your Redmi Note series device. You should post the image on Instagram and not on Facebook. You have to write a caption greater than 30 words and tag @xiaomi.malaysia.
In the past, Xiaomi had launched the Redmi Note 7S in India with a 48MP primary camera, which is a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 7. Hence, the “S” series smartphones are not new to Xiaomi. In all probability, the Note 9S will be identical to that of the Redmi Note 9 series. The design will be attractive and the rear side will shine like never before. We will be able to know the actual cost of the device after the launch. Stay tuned.
