Apparently, humans and bezels just can’t stay together anymore, let alone bother about peace and harmony. What most of us are looking for is perhaps all screen — both on the front and on the back. And as we already know, where there is a demand, there will be supply. Well, that’s exactly what smartphone companies seem to think anyway and Xiaomi is here to deliver it. The company unveiled the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha in India today and it has some truly outstanding features. But all that stands out about the Mi Mix Alpha is the display.
Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha has this gorgeous display!
Well yes, the display. That’s entirely what the smartphone is all about and it’s nearly impossible to take our eyes off the beauty. Believe it or not, Xiaomi says the screen to body ratio here is 180 per cent. There’s so little of this phone that isn’t screen. The top and bottom edges among others are made of arrow grade titanium. The back houses cameras and presumably other components like antennae and microphones.
Why don’t we discuss the cameras?
There are three cameras in total. There’s a whopping 108 MP camera on the back. Sure, we wonder why one would need such high-resolution pictures from a phone. There’s also a 20 MP ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 12 megapixel one with dual face detection autofocus, which is supposed to make it easier to shoot moving subjects.
There’s an in-display fingerprint scanner as well as pressure-sensitive sides. The top edge of the phone houses a solo power button so that you can switch it off/on. Powering the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha is QUALCOMM’s Snapdragon 855+ processor and a 4,050mAh battery with 40W fast charging out-of-the-box.
