Xiaomi never fails to throw a pompous fete when it comes to the company’s yearly anniversary (or even its sub-brand Mi’s anniversary). For all, it seems the Chinese brand to be always in a rush to showcase its new product every alternate month. The device in question is Xiaomi’s new flagship Mi 10 that made its debut in China in February this year. Xiaomi will take the wraps off its latest flagship phone in India on March 31. The company confirmed the launch date via its official Mi India Twitter handle. Xiaomi stated that the pre-order for the device will begin on the launch day itself from 3 PM. Coming to the specs of the Mi-branded flagship phone, the key USP of the Xiaomi Mi 10 is its 108 MP primary sensor and 8K video recording support. The phone gets a quad-camera setup on the rear side and an in-display front-facing camera. Here are the details about the flagship Mi 10 smartphone.
Xiaomi Mi 10 Specifications and Features
The Xiaomi Mi 10 boasts a tall 6.67-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The front panel has a 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate. Talking about the design, the Mi 10 is curvier and sleek as compared to the previous iteration. The phone flaunts minimal bezels around the curvature except for a slightly thick chin. It has a deep cutout at the top left corner to embed the front camera. The Xiaomi Mi 10 looks more like Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S10 series from upfront and even the edges.
As for the hardware, the Mi 10 runs Qualcomm’s premium Snapdragon 865 SoC with Snapdragon X55 modem onboard for 5G connectivity support. The phone comes with custom-ROM MIUI 11 based Android 10 OS. In terms of storage, the Mi 10 has 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB UFS 3.0 onboard storage.
As far as the camera is concerned, the quad-camera setup comprises of a 108 MP primary lens, a 13 MP ultra-wide lens, a 2 MP macro lens and a 2 MP depth sensor. For selfies and video calls, the Mi 10 offers a 20 MP camera. The phone equips a 4780 mAh battery with 30W fast charging support.
To recall, Xiaomi launched a high-spec’d Pro version of the Mi 10 phone. But it remains to be seen whether the company will bring the Mi 10 Pro model to the Indian market. The phone features a similar display as that of the standard variant. But the Mi 10 Pro houses a slightly small 4500 mAh battery with faster 50W charging support.
The camera configuration is different (except for the primary lens) as well. The Mi 10 Pro features a 108 MP primary lens, an 8 MP telephoto lens, a 12 MP lens for shooting portrait and a 20 MP ultra-wide lens. The Pro version gets 512 GB onboard storage.
Xiaomi Mi 10 was launched in three color options- Black, peach gold and white for a starting price of Yuan 3999. Meanwhile, the Mi 10 Pro version was introduced at Yuan 4999 in Blue and White color options. The global launch of the handset is scheduled to be held on March 27.
