Vivo is gearing up to launch its smartwatch, the Vivo Watch, this September. The Vivo Watch’s official announcement date was revealed via a teaser posted on the micro-blogging site Weibo. The teaser includes detail of the launch date and timing that reads September 22 at 19:30 CST.
Several leaks have already made rounds on the internet over the past few weeks. Rumors on the table have given a hint on the type of display, case diameter, the shape of the dial, color options, and software.
As per reports, the Vivo Watch will likely feature an AMOLED screen and come in two case diameter- 42mm and 46mm.
A tipster on Weibo revealed the upcoming Vivo Watch’s design cue, which shows a round-shape dial. The watch seems to resemble Samsung Galaxy Watch3 have two bulgy buttons flanked on the right side from the front. Both 42mm and 46mm body options are tipped to use stainless steel.
As for the internal features, the Vivo Watch is expected to perform the basic smartwatch functionalities, including sleep tracking, calorie burn, heart rate monitor, blood oxygen saturation sensor.
Vivo has reportedly incorporated its in-house Jovi digital assistant, native music playback, and NFC support for mobile payments. The Vivo Watch is expected to embed a proprietary OS similar to realme. The wearable will likely offer up to 18 days of battery backup and have 5ATM water resistance.
The leaked poster that showed up last week indicates that the Vivo Watch will come in three color straps- Orange, Brown, and Black. Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station suggested that the watch will offer leather strap options.
Vivo Watch Price and Availability
Given that the launch is set to happen in China, the upcoming Vivo Watch might hit the Chinese store shelves by October. As far as price is concerned, to arch its counter rivals, Vivo might likely pick a price tag close to OPPO and realme’s smartwatch. While speculations are rife, reports hint the Vivo Watch to carry a price of CNY999 in China, which is around €123/$145.
