The smartphone world is under intense competition with companies forging ahead with new releases. With only two days left for the launch of the next-generation Realme devices, Xiaomi is scheduled to unveil its flagship Redmi Note 9 series on March 12. Interestingly, Xiaomi had launched the Redmi Note 8 series in August 2019 with Alexa integration. The company is gearing up to launch the Redmi Note 9 even before the lapse of one year from the previous release. The company could be planning to host the global launch from India because of the Coronavirus outbreak in China.
Like in the case of the Redmi Note 8, the upcoming Redmi Note 9 will be Amazon exclusive. The e-commerce retailer has released an image teaser that reveals the core features on the dedicated landing page. Upon inspection of the teaser, we infer that the smartphone could ship with quad cameras. Xiaomi has nicely punched the camera sensors inside “9” along with the hashtag #ProCamerasMaxPerformance.
The addition of the USB Type-C port helps you to quickly charge the phone alongside the headphone port. Xiaomi India MD Manu Kumar Jain also revealed the presence of these two components including the speaker grille in the teaser image.
The company has revealed that the new handset design will be a beast and also showcases the rear side with darkness on one side and light on the other. Moreover, you can expect an upgraded chipset with improved processing capabilities alongside limitless performance. You can also expect an immersive gaming experience. The Redmi Note 9 series is likely to ship with fast charging capabilities and we expect the company to bundle fast charger with the package.

The Redmi Note 9 will flaunt a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro variant will offer most likely offer a 6.5-inch display. The smartphone will replace the dew-drop notch display with punch-hole like in the case of competing devices. Talking about the internals, the new smartphone will be available in 6GB and 8GB RAM variant with 64GB and 128GB storage. The standard version will have 4GB RAM to satisfy budget-friendly users. Xiaomi is likely to continue the Amazon Alexa integration and that could be the main reason for the launch of the handset via Amazon
In the imaging segment, the new phone will carry 64MP primary camera alongside the telephoto lens and macro lens respectively. Sometimes, Xiaomi will bump up the primary camera with 108MP to attract customers. The phone will have an overall battery capacity of 4000mAh, but the Redmi Note 9 Pro will probably carry a massive 5000mAh battery. While the standard Redmi Note 9 will be available below INR 10000 price tag, the Pro model will likely start from INR 13999. The company could throw in an additional INR 1000 discount for the first flash sale.

Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 8 flaunts a 6.3-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 665 processor, Adreno 610 graphics loaded with MIUI 11 on top of Android 9 Pie. The phone comes with 3GB/4GB and 6GB RAM variants comprising of 32GB/64GB and 128GB expandable storage capacities. The handset features a 48MP primary camera is well supported by an 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensors. On the front, the phone carries a 13MP sensor with support for FHD video recording at 30fps. A 4000mAh battery supplies adequate power to handle the usage of the device.
Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 8 Pro boasts a 6.53-inch HDR display, Helio G90T processor loaded with MIUI 11. The handset is available in 6GB and 8GB RAM options paired with 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage capacities. Even though the rear camera specs are the same as the standard version, the front-facing camera offers a 20MP sensor. The phone borrows power via the 4500mAh fast-charging battery.
