Even though the market share of Realme has declined, the company is ups the ante with revelations about the new product launches. It seems that the company has bigger ideas for 2020. According to reports, Realme will launch its first fitness band in February before the launch of the other flagship smartphones. The upcoming Realme fitness band will compete directly with Xiaomi Mi Band 4, which is gaining popularity among tech enthusiasts. Realme is gearing up to expand the ecosystem with the launch of the fitness tracker.
During the latest #AskMadhav episode on YouTube, the company CEO Madhav Sheth confirmed the arrival of the Realme fitness band although he had given a clue in 2019 itself. Madhav declined to reveal the features and specifications of the band. However, he had displayed a prototype of the band during the Realme 5i launch event. The launch assumes momentum with the surfacing of the listing on the Bluetooth certification website.
For users who have been asking about VoWiFi on #realme devices, I revealed the update timeline yesterday in episode 14 of #AskMadhav.

We assume that the company could integrate the same features as Mi Band with the possible inclusion of Blood Pressure module. You can also expect a bigger display to attract buyers. From our point of view, the customers will buy the band only if there are new features. The reports also suggest that the company could launch a dedicated health app to enable you to establish fitness band connectivity with the smartphone.
Seth also announced the imminent launch of Realme X50 5G smartphone including pushing of Wi-Fi calling functionality for all the handsets. The 5G technology is yet to evolve in India but will be a milestone for the company if it releases the handset.
Based on the reports, we infer that the new Realme fitness band will be available at a lower price than Xiaomi Mi Band 4 and Honor Band 5. The company is also mulling about the possibility of including advertisements on the ColorOS UI. It will throw open a new revenue stream for the company. However, Madhav clearly specifies that the advertisement feature will not affect the user experience. There will be an option to disable the feature on the Settings menu.
Talking about the Wi-Fi calling functionality offered by Reliance Jio and Airtel, the company CEO added that Realme X2 Pro will be the first smartphone to receive the feature in January. The next in the pipeline to receive the VoWiFi capability will be Realme X2, Realme XT, Realme X, Realme 5 Pro, Realme 3 Pro and will continue the OTA delivery process for older smartphones until Q3 2020.
We will continue to keep track of the launch of the Realme fitness band. You can expect exciting features and we are also waiting anxiously to have a glimpse of the next-generation band. The initial launch will be in India and you can expect the availability in Nepal by Q3 2020. If you are in a hurry, make a visit to India and grab the Realme fitness band as and when the wearable is officially launched.
