We all love to snap photos-be it capturing a bird sitting on vent, petals of a bright tulip or even a taking selfie just to get away with work-from-home boredom (although it’s a luxury). While it’s easy to upload the photos on social media via your phone or DSLR (provided it has WiFi support and the device that you will be using is compatible with the camera) right away, getting an instant print of a photo is quite a tedious task. The point-and-shoot instant camera comes in handy in such a case, for instance, the classic Polaroid that captures a photo and strings out a Polaroid film instantly.
The US-based company has a bunch of instant cameras from Stranger Things to OneStep+. Polaroid has added a new product to the lineup named Polaroid Now. The instant camera comes with a few upgrades over the previous iteration. Polaroid Now includes an autofocus 2-lens system that detects a subject and then picks a 35mm or 40mm lens depending on the distance of the subject.
In addition, the new Polaroid Now has a built-in double exposure that patches two frames into one Polaroid photograph. The instant camera gets a new button as well that enables you to set the 9-second self-timer or activate the double exposure mode when you press it twice.
The camera flaunts a similar classic, boxy shape design; however, compared to the previous Polaroid Originals models, the Polaroid Now is slightly big which means one-hand use might be a bit difficult.
Polaroid has chucked out another aspect from Polaroid Now- the connectivity option. The OnStep+ Polaroid instant camera enables users to pair it with a phone or tablet via Bluetooth and capture photos or select different modes remotely via their device. The new design with an add-on button might give it a rough-patch ergonomic-wise.
That aside, the Polaroid Now uses the same i-Type film like the previous model and an LED counter on the back that lets you know how many shots are available on the print pack. The new instant camera packs a 750mAh battery which is rated to last for up to 15 packs of films on a single charge. The camera comes with a Micro-USB port for charging.
