Just a few months after the revival of the POCO brand with the launch of POCO X2 (rebadged Redmi K30) in India, the company again added a new smartphone in its kitty today – the flagship killer POCO F2 Pro (successor to POCO F1).
The POCO F2 Pro comes in two memory configurations: one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage that is priced at €499 and the other that features 8GB of RAM and 256 of storage that costs €599. Both the variants run the latest Android 10 and are going on sale globally starting today via Gearbest and AliExpress.
The POCO F2 Pro might seem familiar to you as it is a rebrand of the Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro that was launched in China just like the POCO X2 which was also a rebrand of the Xiaomi Redmi K30 4G.
Angus Ng – Product Marketing Manager at POCO said,
“We’re back. It’s been awhile, but we are back.”
POCO F2 Pro Specifications and Features
Let’s have a closer and detailed overview of the hardware specifications, features, and software section of the POCO F2 Pro and things that makes it a true flagship killer.
POCO F2 Pro Design and Display
Talking about the display, POCO has chosen to opt for a popup camera instead of opting for a hole punch or a notch. Measuring in at 6.67-inches, the FHD+ Super AMOLED display of POCO F2 Pro comes with a screen resolution of 2400×1080 pixels. The switch to AMOLED also allowed the fingerprint reader to move below the screen.
The screen refreshes at a standard 60Hz, but the touch sampling rate has been amped up to 180Hz with HDR 10+ support. Both back and front of the smartphone are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
The handset has Widevine L1 certification, so it can play HD content from Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and other online media streaming services.
POCO F2 Pro Performance and Storage
Powering the POCO F2 Pro is the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC with 5G support. The chipset is coupled with an Adreno 650 GPU. However, it’s worth noting that the base variant 6GB/128GB model comes with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.0 storage. Whereas, the top variant 8GB/256GB model comes with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
All this inside a smartphone is definitely gonna produce some heat and to take care of it and to maintain sustainable performance for a long time, the POCO F2 Pro sports what the company claims to be the largest vapor chamber in any smartphone to support LiquidCool Technology 2.0 with three layers of graphite cooling.
This helps the device to remain cool under heavy usages like while playing high-end games such as PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty, and Fortnite.
The flagship phone gets HOT sometimes. But it won’t be an issue with #POCOF2Pro.

POCO F2 Pro Camera
One area that looks to have had some serious improvements is the camera setup. Besides the new chipset, the POCO F2 Pro’s new quad-camera setup may be what pushes the POCO fans to upgrade. The smartphone boasts a 64MP Sont IMX686 sensor which serves as the primary camera with a large 1/1.7” sensor size, 0.8μm pixels pre-binning, and dual stabilization through EIS plus OIS, as well as HEIF image format support and 8K video recording support.
There’s also a 13MP ultra wide-angle camera sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 5MP macro camera that supports 50mm macro photography.
The front pop-up camera, that serves as the selfie sensor, is a 20MP shooter that is capable of recording videos at 120fps slow-motion. The primary camera setup is capable of recording 8K videos at 24fps and 4K videos at 60fps.
POCO F2 Pro Battery
The POCO F2 Pro houses a decent-sized 4,700mAh battery with 30W fast charging support which company claims can charge the battery completely in about an hour. In the box, the smartphone ships with a 33W charger.
Just like the original POCO F1, the wireless charging is absent here too.
POCO F2 Pro Software
Like most smartphones launched at 2020, the POCO F2 Pro will ship with the Android 10, although with the POCO Launcher 2.0 installed atop. The launcher has had some serious tweaks since shipping with the POCO F1 back in 2018. The dark mode is available, a must-have on AMOLED screens.
