OPPO ColorOS based Android 11: Features

Google’s latest mobile operating system includes three distinct elements- Controls, privacy, and people. OPPO has citing to have maintained parity with Google has implemented the core Android 11 aspects, although it hasn’t entirely done away with PUPs. On the bright side, OPPO has added a three-finger gesture for translating on-screen text via Google translate instantly.

Customization –

Further, you get a conversation view for notifications, a Customisation option that enables adjusting the shape of icons, create your own always-on display designs, ringtones, themes, icons, etc. There is an option of enhancing the stock Android Dark Mode with three color schemes (Enhanced, Medium, Gentle) and levels of contrast to suit your preference. You can even schedule the dark mode from sunset to sunrise or customize the schedule.

In case you are wondering how to create your own wallpaper or say background, all you got to do is upload a photo and the dedicated algorithm will handle the rest of the job. The accent colors of the icons can be changed as well.

Upgrade and Addition –

Moving on, OPPO has upgraded its special stock app Relax to v2.0 which now allows users to create their own ‘white noise mix’ from a wide range of ambient sounds. Multitasking will be much easier with the new Flexdrop feature that will enhance the experience by allowing you to resize any app into a small floating window or a small mini-window.

Battery Saving Mode

ColorOS 11 offers built-in battery saver mode and a secondary Super Saving Mode. While the former is meant to do the basic task, the latter, however, kicks it up a notch. The mode lets you choose six apps when you have a low battery and it switches off the rest in the background to save up some juice.

OPPO has introduced a Battery Guard feature as well that prolongs the battery life of the device. In case users plug it in charge at night and forget to turn off the switch the feature pauses the charging once it reaches 80% and the rest is charged just before the user wakes up.

Privacy Features

The Private System feature lets you create a second user account on the phone, housing its own version of apps. To log in to the Private System, a different PIN and fingerprint are required. The feature is expected to arrive this November.

There is a shortcut to App Lock as well that makes it easy for the users to lock apps through a password, fingerprint, or face recognition. Changes have been made to the permissions system too with temporary permissions resetting camera, microphone, and location access when the app is closed.
