OPPO has launched a new F-series smartphone in Nepal, the OPPO F17. The handset was launched on September 27 along with the OPPO F17 Pro, OPPO Enco W51, and OPPO Watch. OPPO claims that the OPPO F17 is the sleekest phone of the season with just the 7.45mm thickness and weighing in at just 163 grams. In Nepal, the 8GB+128GB variant of OPPO F17 has been launched for Rs. 33,990.
The OPPO F17 features a unique design, which is something new in the mid-range segment. It sports a square-shaped camera module housing the rear quad cameras. The frame curved around the edges is coated with a silver accent. Here’s an overview of the new OPPO F17 handset.
The OPPO F17 flaunts quite a fascinating design language. Although the front-fascia is nothing different, you get a dew-drop notch style display. However, the back panel is encased in a leather texture that gives the device an aesthetic appeal.
OPPO notes that the leather-feel surface is created by applying a special technique to the plastic body. The quad cameras are well placed on the top left corner with a sliver outline surrounding the module frame. The phone doesn’t offer a rear-mounted fingerprint reader; instead, you get an in-display fingerprint sensor.
For photography, the OPPO F17 offers quad-camera configuration housing a 16MP wide sensor with an f/2.2 lens, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor with an f/2.2 lens, and two 2MP monochrome sensors with f/2.4 lenses. For selfies, you get a 16MP (Sony IMX471 sensor) camera. The camera software equips AI Beautification 2.0, face unlock, and front Night mode for better selfies in low-light conditions. Also, it offers optimized filters, as well.
Speaking of the technical aspects, OPPO F17 features an AMOLED display that measures 6.44-inch diagonally. The display has a resolution of 1,080 x 2400 pixels, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a 408ppi pixel density. The phone offers two brightness-adjustment options- Sunlight Screen & Moonlight Screen that adjusts the brightness level depending on the ambient lighting.
In terms of hardware, OPPO has provided the capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 mobile platform that can handle regular tasks with ease. For running graphic-intensive games, the CPU is paired with Adreno 610 GPU. The chipset is paired with both 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB native storage.
The volume keys, SIM tray, and dedicated microSD slot are put on the left side, while the power button sits on the right side.
OPPO F17 runs on Android 10 with ColorOS 7.2 layered on top. The custom mobile OS offer screenshot modes like landscape scrolling and Lab Ringtone with which you mix and match the music, rhythm to create ringtones.
The phone equips a 4015mAh non-removable battery. It comes with 30W VOOC fast charging support and has a USB-C port.
The price of OPPO F17 in Nepal is set Rs. 33,990 for the 8GB/128GB variant. Available in two color options: Navy Blue and Dynamic Orange, the smartphone is available for purchase across all the authorized retail stores in Nepal.
