OPPO is gearing up to launch its new smartphone, the OPPO Ace2 next week. The device has already appeared on the e-hub a few days back and a TENAA certification page revealed the spec sheet as well. Now OPPO itself released a teaser image of the new handset on its official Weibo account (following OnePlus’ footstep).
The poster of the upcoming Oppo Ace2 reveals the design and a few aspects of the smartphone. The phone is seen featuring a dial shaped camera module at the back and a punch-hole upfront. The phone features a tall form factor and minimal bezel display.
From the rear end, the Oppo Ace2 looks similar to the OnePlus 7T, but that’s nothing to be surprised since both sub-brands fall under one umbrella (BBK Electronics) and design concoction is seen to have been materialized since 2014.
The front side is different though, the OnePlus 7T had a teardrop notch display, Oppo has instead opted for a punch-hole panel on its new Oppo Ace2 which sits at the top left corner. As for the hardware, the company has confirmed that the upcoming Oppo phone will house the Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 865 chipset. The device will support 5G networks and weigh 185 grams.
Apparently the Oppo Ace2 has been listed on JD.com as well. As per the Chinese retailer, the phone will be available in two color options- Moon Rock Ash and Fantasy Purple.
OPPO Ace2 5G Specifications
In terms of specifications, the TENAA listing that was spotted last month suggests that the Oppo Ace2 will sport a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display. For biometrics, an in-display fingerprint sensor is embedded underneath the front panel.
The punch hole cut will house a 16MP camera for selfies. The circular camera array is tipped to include a 48MP primary camera which will be accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. On the software front, the phone will likely run Android 10 with ColorOS 7 custom skin on top. The Oppo Ace2 is said to equip a 4000mAh battery and come with 65W wired fast charging support and 40W of wireless charging support.
With a shiny glass rear panel, the volume rockers could be seen sitting at the left side while a USB-C port and speaker grills are placed at the bottom. As per the JD listing the Oppo Ace2 will arrive in three memory options- 8GB + 128GB storage, 8GB + 256GB storage, and a high-end variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage.
Details about the official price and availability of the new Oppo Ace2 phone are not known yet. But given the entire spec sheet is already tabled prior to the phone’s launch, we will likely get to know the rest soon. Oppo Ace2 will be showcased on April 13, a day ahead of the OnePlus 8 series global launch.
