OnePlus 8 With Snapdragon 865 Launched: Specifications, Price

Despite global threat over the COVID-19 outbreak, OnePlus has announced the launch of OnePlus 8 with plenty of new features. The core feature of the OnePlus 8 is the addition of 5G support via a powerful Snapdragon 865 processor.

The OnePlus 8 smartphone features a slim and sleep curved design with a 90Hz Fluid punch-hole display. The device has eliminated the dewdrop notch and integrates the selfie sensor inside the hole placed on the top left-hand side. Moreover, the smartphone features a triple camera consisting of a 48MP primary sensor alongside dual secondary sensors.

OnePlus 8: Display

The OnePlus 8 boasts a 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED 3D Corning Gorilla Glass display with a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels and 402PPI. The screen features a 20:9 aspect ratio with support for sRGB and Display P3 technologies. The display provides support for reading mode, night mode, and vibrant color effect capabilities.

OnePlus 8: Performance and Battery

Under the hood, the OnePlus 8 is powered by a Snapdragon 865 processor, Adreno 650 graphics alongside X55 5G chipset. The smartphone is available in 8GB and 12GB LPDDR4X RAM consisting of 128GB and 256GB UFS 3.0 internal storage. The 8GB RAM model offers 128GB storage, while the 12GB RAM variant ships with 256GB storage.

The phone pumps power via a 4300mAh battery with support for Warp Charge 30T Fast Charging technology. The device is pre-loaded with OxygenOS based on the Android 10 operating platform. The package includes 5V/6A charging adapter.

OnePlus 8: Camera

On the optics front, the OnePlus 8 features a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary sensor with 0.8um pixel density, 6P lens quality coupled with f/1.75 aperture. The smartphone offers dual secondary sensors consisting of 2MP macro lens and 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.4 and f/2.2 aperture respectively.

The primary camera offers support for OIS and EIS including PDAF and CAF functionalities. Moreover, the camera includes Dual LED Flash using which you can easily capture low-light visuals with perfect accuracy.

You will be able to shoot 4K and FHD videos at 30 and 60fps. It is possible to shoot FHD and HD slow-motion videos at 240fps and 480 fps respectively.

The OnePlus 8 also provides an ability to record time-lapse videos in FHD format at 30fps. The camera also offers support for CINE aspect ratio video recording, UltraShot HDR, Micro, Portrait, Panorama, AI scene detection and much more.

On the selfie front, the OnePlus 8 ships with a 16MP (f/2.45 aperture) Sony IMX471 sensor alongside EIS, Face Unlock, HDR, Screen Flash and Face Retouching technologies.

OnePlus 8: Connectivity

In addition to LTE/LTE-A with 4×4 MIMO, the OnePlus 8 provides support for 2×2 MIMO Wi-Fi, WiFi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, SBAS, and A-GPS.

The smartphone also includes an in-display fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, compass, Gyroscope, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and sensor core technologies. The handset included USB 3.1 GEN1 port alongside USB Type-C port.

You can make use of the standard Type-C earphone with support for gestures, alert slider, and on-screen navigation. The audio department is showered with Dolby Atmos-enabled noise-cancelling Dual Stereo Speakers.

OnePlus 8: Price and Availability

The OnePlus 8 is available in Onyx Black, Glacial Green color variants. As part of the launch offer, the company is providing zero percent APR financing for up to 12 months. As of this writing, OnePlus has listed the 12GB RAM model with 256GB storage at $799. If you opt for APR financing, you will have to pay $67 per month.
