OnePlus 7 happens to be the most anticipated flagship smartphone at the moment. Not surprisingly, the rumor mills have gone overboard with the device, claiming a launch date of May 14 among other things, including its likely specifications as well. And now company CEO – Pete Lau has jumped into the fray saying he is going to announce a launch event on April 23.
Of course, Lau is being cryptic and is not confirming if the above applies to the launch of the OnePlus 7 itself. But then, analysts and market experts are placing their bet on the event is for the launch of none other than the OnePlus 7. Not to mention, the phone too has been hitting headlines with alarming regularity off late.
Fortunately, the almost incessant leaks and rumors on the OnePlus 7 has also provided us with a fairly good idea of what the flagship phone, or shall we say the flagship killer device will be like in reality. For instance, there are reports of the company readying a triple treat this time, with there being a base OnePlus 7 along with two Pro models – the OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 Pro 5G.
The OnePlus 7 Pro, understandably has all the bells and whistles associated with flagships, perhaps some more as well. For one, the company is going all out with the display, which is going to stretch all the way to the edges this time. To make up for the notch, or for that matter the front selfie cam, there is going to be a pop-up mechanism which will be hosting the front facing cam.
Then, the rear too is going to feature a triple lens setup, signifying something captivating on the camera front; more so with a 48-mp sensor as the primary cam. The other two is going to be about ultra-wide shots along with a telephoto lens as well.
The front will likely have a 6.64-inch dual edged AMOLED display of Quad HD+ resolution. Another unique aspect with the display is that it is being speculated to have a refresh rate of 90Hz instead of the 60Hz display we have seen will all OnePlus handsets so far.
Further, rumour also has it that it’s going to be a 4000 mAh battery powering the phone and will include a 30W charger for quick recharges. A dual speaker system too is being associated with the phone
Not surprisingly, the OnePlus 7 is about a few compromises such as a waterdrop notch along with twin lens rear camera. A Snapdragon 855 chipset though will likely be the choice of processor and should be common across the range.
