Nokia 5.3, the budget smartphone from Nokia’s portfolio is set to enter the Indian smartphone market. The confirmation comes via HMD’s official site in India where it is seen listed with all the specs, demo videos, and official posters.
The details of the new Nokia phone are already known given the smartphone officially debuted in March this year for a price of Euro 189 (approx. INR 15,200). The Nokia 5.3 is expected to carry a similar price tag in India.
Notably, HMD Global launched three variants of its new budget smartphone; what remains to be seen is whether the company will offer both the variants for the users in India. As for the core specs and features here is the entire list-
The Nokia 5.3 looks stunning with its broad form factor (especially the Cyan color model), minimal bezel front panel, and a tiny dewdrop on top. Whereas, the backside looks a replica of the Nokia 7.2 smartphone.
The Nokia 5.3 features a dial shape camera module with quad-camera lenses. It comes with a dedicated Google Assistant button and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. But given the Nokia 5.3 comes under the budget segment, HMD Global had to cut corners, for instance, the phone is built out of plastic. Unlike the Nokia 7.2, the device doesn’t flaunt Zeiss branded lens.
However, on the bright side, you get a tall HD+ display with a 20:9 aspect ratio that provides a better viewing experience while watching movies or streaming online content.
Also, the phone offers a bloat-free stock version of Android 10 along with two years of regular security updates and software upgrades from the company.
As for hardware, the Nokia 5.3 equips an octa-core Snapdragon 665 mobile platform which is found in many mid-range and budget handsets. The mid-range ARM-based SoC is paired with Adreno 610 GPU for rendering graphics.
Besides this, the Nokia device packs a decent 4000mAh battery which is assisted by 10W charging support. In terms of storage, it has eMMC 5.1 storage options and a dedicated memory slot which offers expandable storage of up to 512 GB.
The new Nokia 5.3 is available in three color options – Cyan, Sand, and Charcoal. Reports suggest that the phone will likely debut this month. Although details are scarce for now, we will keep a tab and update. Stay tuned!
