HMD Global launched its latest Android Go Edition smartphone the Nokia 1.3 alongside the duo Nokia 5.3 and premium Nokia 8.3 5G debut. The budget Android 10 Go Edition smartphone is priced at EUR 95 and will roll out starting next month.
The Finnish tech company had introduced a few Android Go edition smartphones in the past few years including the Nokia 1, Nokia 1 Plus, Nokia 2.1. But though these devices came with minimal upgrades, the company has made a few tweaks on the new Nokia 1.3 phone. The latest Android Go Nokia phone comes with a tall form factor, trimmed bezels and above all a notch display.
The design looks refreshing as compared to the previous iterations that feature thick bezels and square-cut design. The Nokia 1.3 carries a single camera both on the rear and upfront. The power button and volume keys sit on the right edge while the speaker grill is placed on the backside. The phone gets a dedicated Google Assistant button as well.
The Nokia 1.3 packs modest specifications, for instance, an HD+ notch-style display, 16 GB native storage and 3000mAh battery. But what’s interesting is the fact that the latest budget phone from HMD will be the first to ship with Google’s new Camera Go app that was announced recently.
The Camera Go app is integrated deep into the phone’s OS and has a clean and simple interface. Google states that the app will offer portrait mode, track how much photo, video storage is available and help users clean up space on their device.
That aside, HMD Global has promised that the Nokia 1.3 will get guaranteed two years Android OS update. Considering the company’s software update timeline for the Nokia devices, users can surely rely on the claim. To recall, HMD’s Chief Product Officer in September last year announced the Android 10 (Go Edition) update for the Nokia 2.1, Nokia 1 Plus and Nokia 1 Android Go phones.
Coming to specifications and other details of the Nokia 1.3, here’s the list-

As mentioned above, HMD has launched two other Nokia phones– the Nokia 8.3 5G and Nokia 5.3. Betting on the Nokia nostalgia, the company has even showcased a revived version of the Nokia Original 5310 Xpress Music. While these devices are certain to take a look upon, with the COVID-19 pandemic it remains to be seen as when the new Nokia lineup will hit the emerging markets.
