Motorola’s first-ever foldable phone the Moto Razr has paved its way to the Indian smartphone market. The foldable phone made its global debut in November last year at $1,499.99 in the United States. Moto Razr has been launched in India for a price of Rs 1,24,999.
At first glance, the new Motorola’s Moto Razr phone looks much like the 2004 original Razer V3 (except the 2020 Razr phone is a bit broad) but when you flip open the phone the difference can be witnessed. Instead of a small screen and physical keyboard Motorola has shoehorned an all-screen 6.2-inch flexible OLED display. The 2019 Moto Razr flaunts a sleek design and a special hinge mechanism for a slim profile.
Unlike Samsung’s Galaxy Fold or Huawei Mate X which rather feels like holding a mini-tablet, the Moto Razr phone comes in a compact size and easily fits in your pocket.
Motorola’s flip phone will be available for purchase in India both via Flipkart and brick & mortar stores.
Motorola Moto Razr Specifications and Features
The foldable Moto Razr phone features a 6.2-inch flexible OLED HD+ display with a resolution of 872×2142 pixels and a 21:9 aspect ratio. The phone has a secondary 2.7-inch (600×800 pixels) Quick Play display which can be accessed when you fold the device. The secondary display allows you to take selfies, control music playback, view notifications, etc. The back panel is made of polycarbonate while the front panel is constructed of glass.
Moto Razr sports a 16MP camera with f/1.7 aperture which can be used either to take photos or capture selfies. There is a 5MP sensor above the main display for facial recognition. Motorola has added another biometric option – an optical fingerprint sensor that is embedded in the bulky chin. At the bottom of the chin, there are huge speakers and a 15W USB-C port.
In terms of hardware, Moto Razr is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor which is paired with 6GB of RAM. It has 128GB storage onboard. The phone doesn’t have expandable microSD card support.
A disappointing aspect on the Moto Razr is that it runs on Android 9.0 Pie and what could be more upsetting that there is no comment from the company as to when the device will get the latest Android updates.
Moto Razr packs a decent 2510mAh battery and supports 15W fast charging. Connectivity options include- 4G LTE, WiFi-802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/A-GPS.
