After waiting for so long, Xiaomi has finally entered into the chaotic laptop market and unveiled its first laptops in India – the Mi Notebook 14 and Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition. Now, the Horizon Edition is obviously the more exciting and the more higher-end of the two and well let’s talk about the Horizon Edition first.
Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition Specifications and Features
The Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition houses an all-metal design with no branding on the outside which makes it clean and minimal. The device is made from an aluminum and magnesium alloy and weighs just 1.35 kgs.
Unlike the Mi Notebook variants that are available in China, neither of the Indian variants come with a fingerprint sensor for quick unlocking via Windows Hello, which I feel quite disappointing.
The Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition boasts a 14-inch Full-HD anti-glare LCD display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 16:9 aspect ratio, and 91% screen-to-body ratio. The panel comes with a 178-degree viewing angle, 1000:1 contrast ratio, and 250 nits of peak brightness.
Since the bezels here are super small, you don’t get a built-in webcam onboard. Xiaomi, however, will be bundling an external webcam in the box.

Talking about the internals of the device, the laptop is powered by up to 10th-Gen Intel Core i7-10510U processor with a max clock speed up to 4.9GHz. And this is coupled with 8GB DDR4 RAM (2666MHz) and up to 512GB SSD storage. You also get a dedicated GPU here, the Nvidia GeForce MX350 (2GB) that the graphics need on the Horizon Edition, enabling you to enjoy some casual gaming and light video editing.
The Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition does not include a full-size keyboard instead it comes with a chiclet keyboard with 1.3mm key travel and a fairly modest-size trackpad. You also get Mi Smart Share for faster and secure file sharing and Blaze Unlock for unlocking the laptop via a Mi Band.

As for the I/O ports of the device, you get a single USB 2.0 port and 3.5mm audio jack on the left. The right edge includes two USB 3.1 ports, one HDMI 1.4b, and one USB Type-C port. You also get WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.0 onboard as the wireless connectivity options.
Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition comes equipped with a 46Wh battery, which the company claims should last you up to 10 hours on a single charge. The laptop supports 1C fast-charging and comes with a 65W charger that can juice up the battery from 0% to 50% in just around 30 minutes.
Both, Mi Notebook 14 and Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition comes pre-loaded with Microsoft Windows 10 Home Edition and a 1-month free trial of Office 365.
Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition Price
The Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition will be available in two variants. The Core-i5 variant has been priced at INR. 54,999 while the Core-i7 variant will cost you INR. 59,999.

- Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition – 8GB RAM + 512GB SSD, i5 10th Gen + Nvidia MX350 – INR 54,999 (~ Rs. 87,999 in Nepal )
- Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition – 8GB RAM + 512GB NVMe SSD, i7 10th Gen + Nvidia MX350 – INR 59,999 (~ Rs. 95,999 in Nepal )
Mi Notebook 14 Specifications & Features
The standard Mi Notebook 14 has some differences – both on the internals and design front. This variant is essentially a rebranded version of the RedmiBook 14 Pro, which was launched in China back in August last year.
The most noticeable differentiator between the two variants is the bezels. The Mi Notebook 14 comes with thicker bezels surrounding the 14-inch Full-HD display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 178-degree viewing angle, and 250 nits of peak brightness. Even though we have bigger bezels in Mi Notebook 14, you still don’t get a built-in webcam, which is quite disappointing.

As for the internals of the notebook, you still get 10th-Gen Intel Core i5-10510U (Comet Lake) in this variant. It’s coupled with up to 2GB Nvidia GeForce MX250 graphics memory, 8GB 2666MHz RAM, and up to 512GB SATA 3 SSD onboard. The laptop includes a single fan for cooling.

The connectivity and battery features for Mi Notebook 14 remains the same as the Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition, so yeah, you won’t be missing out on anything here.
