Honor Play 9A certified in China, specifications and alleged renders leaked

The specifications and renders of the upcoming Honor Play 9A have been leaked on the Chinese certification site TENAA. With model names MED-AL20 and MOA-AL20, the devices seem to be the Honor Play 9A. The smartphone is rumored to ship with a dual rear camera mechanism coupled with a 5000mAh battery. The device will also include a waterdrop notch display as we can visualize from the leaked images. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear of the handset. The device will be available in three color variants. Honor is yet to reveal the specifications.

However, the specifications leaked on TENAA were proven to be correct in the past. The launch events for the launch of Huawei P40 and the Honor 30S have been scheduled on March 30. There are reports that Honor Play 9A will also launch along with Honor 30S.

Honor Play 9A Specifications and Features [Expected]

According to the renders revealed by a popular tech portal and tipster Ishan Agarwal, the Honor Play 9A will feature a 6.3-inch IPS display. The waterdrop notch accommodates the front-facing camera sensor. While the right side will have a power button and volume controls, the bottom side offers the headphone and charging ports respectively.

Under the hood, the Honor Play 9A will draw adequate processing power via Helio P35 chipset. The smartphone will be available in 4GB RAM alongside 64GB and 128GB storage variants. We also expect the addition of 6GB RAM with the 128GB storage model.

Talking about the imaging parameters, the Honor Play 9A will most likely ship with dual rear cameras with 13MP primary and 2MP secondary camera sensors respectively. The selfie camera will offer an 8MP sensor located on the waterdrop notch. The rear cameras are vertically stacked alongside LED Flash. The leaked image clearly reveals the placement of the camera sensors.

The handset will draw power via a powerful 5000mAh battery with 10W fast charging technology. The TENAA specifications hint at a thickness of 9.04mm for the device. The Play 9A will be pre-loaded with Android. Honor will likely include their own UI with the device.

Honor Play 9A Price and Availability

The Honor Play 9A will be priced below INR 10,000 considering the specifications. With plenty of triple camera and quad-camera smartphones on the market, it remains to be seen as to whether tech-savvy people will buy the Play 9A with dual cameras. The company will launch the device in China followed by other regions. We will continue to keep track of the developments.
